Victoria DeFreitas

As a graduate of Wheelock College in 1991, I began as director of Ridge Hill. In the following years in 1994 I was fortunate to purchase the Ridge Hill School. Teaching Young Children has been a passion of mine since I was a young girl.

Building a successful Private Early Childhood Program has been a rewarding experience for me. I live in Scituate with My Husband and 2 children ages 9 and 11.

“May you walk through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life.”

Stacey Driscoll

Stacey Driscoll has been at Ridge Hill since September of 1994! It was her first job out of college and was the best opportunity she could have asked for in the world of teaching.  She is currently the Kindergarten Teacher and Assistant Director.  Stacey thoroughly enjoys going to work everyday, it is so much fun to see the amazing smiles of the children each day as they learn through teaching and social play.  She can’t wait for her children to someday be able to experience the wonders of Ridge Hill.  Stacey lives in Hanson with her husband, Mike, and they are very excited to start their own family in March 2009.  When not teaching she enjoys spending time with family & friends as well as watching the Red Sox & Patriots.

Jill Zielinski

After being a Ridge Hill parent for six years, Jill began teaching at RHS in the Pre-K classroom in March of 2009.  She attended Boston College where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and her master’s degree in Developmental and Educational Psychology.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children, and their black labrador retriever at home in Hanover. She enjoys attending her children’s many baseball/softball games, vegetable gardening, camping with her Girl Scout troop, baking and scrapbooking.
“It’s not what we do to make a living, it’s what we do to make a life.”

Jenny DeFreitas

Jenny grew up in Duxbury and now lives in Kingston.  She went to Unity College and received a bachelors degree in Outdoor Recreation.  Jenny has worked at Ridge Hill for almost 10 years.  She currently teaches in the Pre-K classroom where she loves watching the children grow, learn and explore.  Some of her interests include making pottery, kayaking, sailing and dancing tango.  Jenny loves adventures with her nephews, especially crab fishing in the summertime.

Nicole Messina

I started working at Ridge Hill in August 2008. I graduated from Framingham State College in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. I currently live in Hanover with my mom, dad and sister who is 21 and attending Bentley University.

I love teaching young children because of the excitement they show. It could be when learning something for the first time or sharing a story. It is such a great experience to be a part of. Outside of Ridge Hill, I am a softball coach and love to spend time with my friends and my family.

Shealene McGuinness

Hello! I am happy to be a new member of the Ridge Hill Staff. This is my second year as a professional teacher. I taught Pre-K last year in Salem and recently moved back to my hometown in Plymouth, MA. I graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2007. While attending School, I was a tutor and assistant in an elementary school and a nanny for two families of four. I’ve always enjoyed working with kids, helping them grow. I’m thrilled to be working here with a wonderful staff and loving families.

This is going to be an exciting year!

Rachel Barclay

Today, I live in Marshfield with my husband whom I grew up with in Scituate. We have a 3 year old Australian Shepherd named Yawkey and 2 cats…I am not allowed to go to shelters anymore (I always come home with somebody). I enjoy spending my time with my large family and many nieces and nephews. During the warm months I enjoy being at sea with my father on his sailboat. Recently, we sailed from his New York City home to Scituate. In the winter, I love skiing and spending time at home.

I have been teaching at Ridge Hill since September of 2004. I graduated from Bridgewater State College with a degree in education and psychology. Ever since a young age I knew I would be become a teacher, and now I love being able to provide children with an opportunity to learn everyday.

Maura McArdle

I started working at Ridge Hill School in March 1996. I am a lifelong resident of Scituate and enjoy taking my dog Daisy for walks on the beach.

I like to travel to new places. This past August, I volunteered at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab Utah for 3 days. I love watching the children develop their social skills, forming their first friendships and also seeing their pride when they’ve learned new concepts or self help skills.

Alissa Goldberg

I started working at Ridge Hill School in August 2008. I love teaching because I love to see the children smile when they learn something new and I also love to hear all their interesting stories. It’s so much fun to see every child learn and grow through each year. I live with my mom and dad and I have a brother who is Autistic. My brother is very special to me. He lives at the May center in Randolph but I am able to see him anytime I want. I am also a licensed cosmetologist, but my heart belongs to teaching. My favorite color is purple and hot pink. I love the summertime because I like to be outdoors and enjoy the warm weather. My family is very important to me and being around them makes me happy.
