Back To School Letter 2009 - 2010 School Year

August 27, 2009 (posted by Ridge Hill School)

Welcome to Ridge Hill School for the 2009-2010 School Year,

I am truly grateful and thankful to share the Ridge Hill learning experience
with all of you.

The teachers have been busy working on their classrooms, curriculum and
creative teaching tools to make this year a success for you and your child.

During the first week of school please remember to have your child bring in
their fish scale. Each classroom will make one giant Rainbow Fish as a class
which will signify all of us coming together as “one” group of friends.

We have been quite busy this summer with many building renovations and repairs.
Our main focus was to renovate the inside of the entire building by giving it a
face lift. I cannot wait for all of you to see the new look.

The front door system is a keyless entry system, which means we will be issuing
out a code for all parents to use when entering the buidling each day at drop
off and pick up. I will get this code to you over Labor Day weekend.

The Upstairs class will have a new addition to their teaching team. Miss Dianne
( my mother) will be working with Miss Jill, Miss Stacey, Miss Maura, Miss Jenny
and Miss Rachel during the school year. She will add her dynamic creative art
background to the class as well as implementing scrapbooking to each class.

The Downstairs Class will welcome back Miss Heather who worked at Ridge Hill
School for five years then took a hiatus to pursue other career opportunities
but found her way back to us. We are so happy and lucky to have Miss Heather
back at Ridge Hill School. Many of you had Miss Heather for your pre-k teacher.
It is so great to have Miss Heather back in the classroom.
With that being said, many of you know that Miss Liz had applied for the
Habitat For Humanity Home in Hanover and did not get it. This was a bit of an
upset but Liz has shown her children the strength, pride, courage and
opportunity to learn the good that they have learned through this process of
fundraising, working in the community and all their fundraising efforts were met
in positive way for a family who needed the house.

Below you will find the letter from Miss Liz and Miss Heather. I will miss Liz
and her teaching style that she brought to Ridge Hill School everyday. She is a
close friend to me and I will always be there to support her professionally and
personally in the years to come.

Dear Ridge Hill Families;

I am writing to let you know that I will not be returning to Ridge Hill School
in September. My priority, my main goal right now is providing for the two
sleepy faces that greet me each morning, my children, Maya and Casey. I want to
give them the best opportunities and experiences I can to help them thrive,
succeed, laugh and love. I felt a career change; back to the corporate world
would best allow me to do this. (I just need to work on controlling the urge to
sing the Days of the Week song from my cubicle when referring to my calendar.)

Vicky has created more than an amazing school, but an amazing community. I
have gained so much from my time at RHS. Each time I walk through the doors, I
feel the positive, caring, fun energy. We have become like family, not just the
teachers, but all who walk through those doors (yes, even the UPS man). I have
celebrated with this family, cried, cheered on, grieved, and enjoyed many, many
belly laughs.

My life has been blessed over and over again from my time at RHS. Your
children could not be in a more positive, caring learning environment. Like the
families I speak to whose children have moved on to elementary school, I will
miss you all. Take care, enjoy the moments, they grow so quick.

Love and gratitude,

Miss Liz

Dear Ridge Hill Families,

I am back! I am very excited to be back teaching at Ridge Hill School. For the
past two years paths have led me other places but now my stars have aligned and
I am back and happier than ever. For those of you that do not know me; I taught
at RHS for five years as a pre-kindergarten teacher, I have been married for 3
1/2 years now and we have a dog named Philo (love him!), I love to work outside
in the yard and I love football! I am looking forward to getting to know the new
families that are part of our Ridge Hill community and catching up with the
families I have not seen in awhile.

Miss Heather

We all look forward to seeing you next week and for those who were participants

and what a memorable gift you will all have for the years to come.

Best Regards to All,
